Next years Careflight Day is sure to be another exciting fun filled day for the family. We have a tentative date in place for the fundraiser, set to be held on Sunday 13th September 2009.

Carers’ support takes flight

A SEA of umbrellas and raincoats covered Tahmoor Oval on Sunday as Wollondilly braved the weather to support a lifesaving service for the shire.

This weekend the community raised more than $30,000 for CareFlight bringing our three-year total up to $100,000.

CAN you believe it’s already been 12 months since Wollondilly hosted CareFlight’s biggest ever community fund-raiser on Tahmoor Oval?

IF YOU’VE ever seen a stunt bird flying around your television screen, it was more than likely trained by Ravi Wasan (pictured).

Mr Wasan is a professional trainer who will bring birds to this year’s Community CareFlight Day at Tahmoor Oval on Sunday, September 14.

Art opens drivers’ view

THE steady rumble of motorcycle engines through Picton on the weekend of August16 and 17 was the perfect backdrop for Wollondilly’s inaugural Sculpture By The Road exhibition.

The driver-attitude themed sculpture exhibition in the Picton Village Square included 21 pieces of art made by young people in the shire who were aged12 to 25.

AUSTRALIA’S future Paralympians will speed through Wollondilly on Sunday, September 14 to raise money for CareFlight.

The Community Careflight Wheelchair Race 2008 has been organised by Thirlmere resident Craig Curtis in partnership with Wheelchair Sports NSW.

Rangers from the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service will bring a ParkAir 1 Squirrel helicopter to this year’s Community CareFlight Day.
